Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus having a plurality of imaging units that have different use frequency each other that extends the life of the frequently used imaging unit than those of other imaging units without largely changing a configuration of respective imaging units.SOLUTION: A protective agent block 14K formed by compression molding is used for a protective layer forming unit 7K installed to a black imaging unit 10K, which is frequently used; and protective agent blocks 14C, 14Y, 14M formed by melt molding are used for protective layer forming units 7C, 7Y, 7M installed to color imaging units 10C, 10Y, 10M, which are not frequently used. The compression-molded protective agent block 14K has higher content of boron nitride than the melt-molded protective agent blocks 14C, 14Y, 14M.
