Abstract:
To provide an image forming apparatus that can reduce degradation of a quality of formed images when a rear end of a recording medium passes through a conveyance part, in comparison with a case where a relationship between the conveyance part and a conveyance speed of a transfer part is fixed.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a transfer unit 10 that includes an image holding body 12 holding a toner image, and a transfer body 14 transferring the toner image held on the image holding body 12 to a recording medium, and transfers the toner image to the recording medium, while holding the recording medium at a holding part 16 between the image holding body 12 and the transfer body 14 and conveying the recording medium; a conveyance unit 20 that is provided on a more upstream side in a conveyance direction of the recording medium than the holding part 16 of the transfer part 10, and conveys the recording medium toward the holding part 16 at a conveyance speed faster than the conveyance speed by the transfer unit 10; and a control unit 60 that performs temporary delay control of making the conveyance speed of the recording medium by the conveyance unit 20 temporarily slower than the conveyance speed of the recording medium by the transfer unit 10, before a rear end of the recording medium passes through the conveyance part 20.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
