Abstract:
To provide an image forming apparatus that outputs a plurality of test charts for density adjustment, the image forming apparatus capable of preventing a situation where an area on a first test chart for density adjustment where a transfer property is reduced due to excess and deficiency of a transfer current repeatedly occurs on a second and subsequent test charts for density adjustment.SOLUTION: In an image forming apparatus that can control a voltage applied to a transfer member to a constant voltage, and can perform limiter control of controlling the voltage applied to the transfer member based on a result of detection performed by a current detection unit so that the result of detection performed by the current detection unit falls within a predetermined range, in a series of adjustment modes for outputting a first test chart for density adjustment and a second test chart subsequent to the first test chart to perform density adjustment, a control unit determines a predetermined voltage while the second test chart passes through a transfer unit based on the amount of change of voltage in the limiter control in the first test chart.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
