PURPOSE: To prevent the transfer of a feeding roller from being printed on paper even if an original is thin by providing a feeding means so that it can freely move in a direction where it is brought into contact with and is separated from an original platen and separating the feeding means from the original platen at the time of forming an image.
CONSTITUTION: After stopping the feeding of the original G, a stopper 48 is lowered and the feeding roller 53 is invertedly rotated to retreat the original G, whose trailing edge surface is made to abut on the stopper 48 and whose position is adjusted. After the position of the original G is adjusted, a movable platen sheet 40 is lowered to press the original G and a solenoid 58 is actuated to move the feeding roller 53 upward. In such a state, copying is started. At the time of completing copying, the platen 40 is lifted and the feeding roller 53 is lowered to be brought into contact with the original G and invertedly rotated. The original G is fed upward through a conveyance guide 49 to be ejected by an ejection roller 51. The feeding roller 53 is thus separated from the original G at the time of forming the image. Thus, the trace of the feeding roller can be prevented from being printed on the paper even if the original is thin.
