PURPOSE: To prevent occurrence of defective transfer and deterioration in cleaning performance by means of a simple structure and to output a satisfactory picture for a long period of time by disposing a cleaning means, which cleans the surface of a transfer roll, in a position almost facing the image carrier of the transfer roll.

CONSTITUTION: An elastic blade 142, which removes toner and paper dust sticking to the transfer roll 105, is arranged in a position facing a photosensitive body 101 on the transfer roll 105. Therefore, the flexure of the transfer roll 105 can be reinforced by the elasticity of the elastic blade 142, and poor cleaning because of vibration resulting from the contact of the photosensitive body 101 with the transfer roll 105 can be also absorbed. Consequently, phenomena such as transfer irregularity and omission can be eliminated, and the rear surface of a paper P is prevented from being soiled. This prevents poor transfer and deterioration in cleaning performance by means of the simple structure, and achieves satisfactory picture output for a long period of time.
