PURPOSE: To prevent the void of an image on the tailing edge and to obtain an image without a transfer blurring by ejecting air on a transfer sheet till the leading edge of a recording medium passes a transfer means and its tailing edge reaches the transfer medium.
CONSTITUTION: Air flow which is slit-ejected by an air flow ejecting means 92 hits on the recording medium, and it is pushed toward a charge carrying medium 21. A control means permits the air flow ejecting means 92 to eject the air current till the leading edge passes the transfer means 25 and its tailing edge reaches the transfer medium. In other words, the transfer medium advances on the transfer means 25, and then, the air flow is started to be ejected. Thus, the occurrence of the void and blurring of a transfer image is prevented, and a recording medium is prevented from being jammed by air flow when the recording medium advances on the transferring means 25.
