Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a device which is intelligent and monitors its own performance to be adapted to the changing condition.
CONSTITUTION: In an onboard diagnosis and control system provided in an image forming device, plural sensors provide an expert system with information so that the whole of a selected area of the performance of a subsystem and the performance of a machine can be monitored. The expert system provides a real time control system with set parameters by a knowledge base and an interference mechanism, and this control system controls component members and the subsystem of the image forming device. As the result, the operation of the machine is adjusted to reduce or eliminate paper jam.
