PURPOSE: To improve the transfer efficiency by incorporating a tetrafluoroethylene resin powder into the surface layer of an intermediate trans fer body.
CONSTITUTION: The surface layer of this intermediate transfer body contains a tetrafluoroethylene resin powder. As for the tetrafluoroethylene resin powder used, a powder having ≥0.1μm and ≤10μm particle size is preferable. In this method, for example, the intermediate transfer body can be formed into a roller shape comprising a cylindrical conductive supporting body and at least an elastic layer comprising rubber, elastomer or resin on the supporting body, and further having one or more coating layers on the elastic layer, or into a belt shape, which can be selected according to the purpose or requirements. Considering the misalignment of colors due to superposition of images and the durability for repeated use, a roller type is more preferable. As for the cylindrical conductive supporting body, aluminum, iron, copper or conductive resin can be used.
