PURPOSE: To eliminate the need of operating an IN input means in a state where a user crosses his or her arms, even if he or she makes a copy while pressing an original on an original platen and to prevent miscopying caused by a deviation in the position of the original by providing the input means which have the same function and are for inputting a command for forming an image on both sides of the central line of the original platen.

CONSTITUTION: Input key parts 5 provided with the same function and being for inputting the command for forming the image are provided in the vicinities of both ends of the operating part of a copying machine 1 respectively. Concretely, symmetry with respect to the central line 9 of the original platen 7 is preferable. Therefore, when the user makes a copy while pressing the original by one hand, only the start key of either of the input key parts 5 can be operated and it is unnecessary that the user operates the start key in the state where he or she crosses his or her arms as in the conventional manner. Moreover, when copying conditions are changed in the process of consecutively copying as well, only the required key of either of the input key parts 5 can be operated so that the copying conditions can be easily changed without crossing the arms.
