PURPOSE: To surely peel paper on the 2nd surface of which a toner image has been transferred from a transfer drum in an electrophotographic device for forming the image on both sides of the paper.

CONSTITUTION: In the electrophotographic image forming device, the paper is turned over after printing the image on the 1st surface, whereby the image may be printed on the 2nd surface. The device is provided with the transfer drum 43 electrostatically attracting and carrying the paper to a transfer position, separation means 29, 27 and 53 separating the paper attracted to the drum 43 from the drum 43 behind the transfer position, a setting means for setting separating ability larger in the case of separating the paper on the 2nd surface of which the image has been transferred than in the case of separating the paper on the 1st surface of which the image has been transferred, and a driving means driving the separation means 29, 27 and 53 at a set level.
