A press roller 50A pressing a sheet to a conveyance belt 1 is provided on the upstream side of a sucking means 60 when the sheet is electrostatically stuck to the conveyance belt 1. A large-diameter section is formed at the central section of the press roller 50A, and the central section of the sheet is pressed by the large-diameter section stronger than both end sections. At the time of back face transfer in both-face image formation, the central section is pressed strong and the deformation of the central section is suppressed when both end sections of the sheet are brought into contact with the conveyance belt 1, the generated undulation is stretched toward both end sections, and the floating of the rear end section is prevented. The adhesion of the sheet to the conveyance belt 1 is improved.
