To provide paper feeding mechanism for an image forming device suitable for disposal of a jam in case of a recording medium being jammed across the paper feeding mechanism and a device body.
A paper refeeding unit 40 movable into a mounted position and a detached position to and from an image forming device body is provided with mechanism for handling a fed recording medium back to the paper refeeding unit 40. When a lever 401 for moving the paper refeeding unit 40 into the detached position is operated in case of the generation of a paper jam, the haul-back mechanism is operated inter-lockingly, and the recording medium extended over paper feeding mechanism and the device body is hauled back to the paper refeeding unit 40. In a conveying mechanism assembly 80, a lever 521 moved by the recording medium is arranged on a path of the recording medium fed from a paper feeding unit 50, and when the jammed recording medium exists at this part, the lever 521 locks the paper feeding unit 50.
