PURPOSE: To enable the copied images of good quality having no stains to be obtained by providing a vignetting part besides a plate part to a member which rubs and sweeps the predetermined region of a developed image carrying body.

CONSTITUTION: A rubbing member having a vignetting part 15b in the end part of a plate part 1a and on image region side is provided at the boundary between the image region side and nonimage region side. This vignetting part 15b has a wedgelike space spreading toward the lower stream in the advance direction of a photoreceptor. Thereupon, this results in that the flow of the developing soln. enters the image region after it has been diffused by the vignetting part 15b, hence even if it is transferred to a transfer material, it does not form any black streak and remains unconspicuous. In this way, the black streaks on the image are made virtually unconspicuous by providing the vignetting part to part of the rubbing type sweeping member, and the good quality copied images having no stains are obtained.
