Title:
IMAGE FORMING ELEMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3662100
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cut ghost image forming light and to improve the resolving power and image forming quality of an image forming device by forming a notched groove between adjacent roof mirrors.
SOLUTION: The notched groove 1-3 is formed on the rectangular roof mirror so that its center may be aligned with the center between the array optical axes of the respective lenses of a lens array 1-1 between the adjacent roof mirrors. Since the reflection surface of the image forming element equivalent to a part where the groove is formed is cut, luminous flux L2 is reflected once by the roof-like reflection surface of the roof mirror and then advances between the lens array 1-1 and the roof mirror without being reflected again, and it is prevented from being emitted from the lens array 1-1. Therefore, there is no possibility that the luminous flux L2 forms an image on an image forming surface and the image quality is deteriorated. In the same manner, the luminous flux L1 obliquely made incident on the surface of the lens array 1-1 enters the groove 1-3 and is reflected by the vertical wall surface of the groove 1-3, then it partially passes through a base and is partially scattered and does not go out from the groove 1-3.
