Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit an image forming stage from being carried out and to set a time for repeatedly energizing an electric motor for a toner replenishing means to the time shorter than that in the conventional manner when toner concentration detected by a toner concentration detecting means for developer in a developing container is equal to or lower than a lower limit.
SOLUTION: When the toner concentration detected by the toner concentration detecting means is equal to or lower than the specified lower limit toner concentration value lower than a threshold, the motor for replenishing the toner is consecutively energized for a consecutive supply time T3 longer than an ordinary supply time T1. After the time T3 elapses and when the toner concentration detected by the toner concentration detecting means exceeds a specified concentration value lower than the threshold but higher than the lower limit, the toner replenishing means is set to an excessive supply actuation state.
