Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image forming material which utilizes photopolymerization reaction, does not emit a foul odor in image formation, gives a high sharpness image and is easily formed into a thin film and to provide an image forming method using the image forming material.
SOLUTION: The image forming material has an image forming layer containing a coloring component (dye component), a developer (decolorant) which allows the coloring component to color (decolors the dye component) and a photopolymerization initiator. The coloring component (dye component) and/or the developer (decolorant) are housed in microcapsules and a compound constituting the capsule walls of the microcapsules has a polymerizable group.
