PURPOSE: To produce the image forming medium having good image density, excellent biological preservation stability and superior inhibitory effects on fogging and print-out (discoloration) with light by using an organic silver salt, a reducing agent and a pyridazinone derivative that is a toner as components of a recording layer.
CONSTITUTION: This medium has a recording layer contg. an organic silver salt, a reducing agent, an antifoggant and a toner on a substrate and as the toner, a pyridazinone compound is used. The pyridazinone compound used is a pyridazine-3-one compound having a substituent at the 5- or 6-position, or substituents at both of these positions, wherein the two substituents may be the same or different. Namely, as the pyridazine-3-one compound used, a compound represented by the formula is preferred. In the formula, each of R1 and R2 is a substituent, i.e., an optionally substituted alkyl, aryl, aralkyl or heterocyclic group, wherein R1 and R2 may be linked together through plural carbon and/or hetero atoms.
