To provide an image forming method which ensures occurrence of few abnormal images and excellent stability of image quality, can meet the demand for miniaturization and further for higher speed, and brings longer lifetime, and to provide an image forming apparatus for forming an image by the method and a process cartridge.
The image forming method includes: a charging step of charging a surface of an electrostatic latent image carrier by a noncontact charging member disposed close to the carrier surface with a gap of ≤100 μm; an electrostatic latent image forming step of forming an electrostatic latent image on the electrostatic latent image carrier; a developing step of developing the electrostatic latent image with a toner to form a visible image; a transfer step of transferring the visible image onto a recording medium; and a fixing step of fixing the transferred image transferred onto the recording medium.
