To provide an image forming method and an image forming apparatus that is environmentally friendly, capable of firmly fixing toner particles to a recording medium and forming an image having superior tone.
The image forming method for forming a color image on a recording medium includes a developing step of forming a plurality of monochromatic images, corresponding to the respective colors by using a plurality of liquid developers of different colors; a transfer step of transferring the monochromatic images of the respective colors onto the recording medium to form an unfixed color image on the recording medium; and a fixing step of fixing the unfixed color image on the recording medium. In the plurality of liquid developers of different colors, an insulating liquid, constituting a liquid developer corresponding to at least yellow, magenta and cyan, contains a fatty acid monoester that has ester coupling of a monohydric alcohol and a fatty acid and unsaturated fatty acid triglyceride.
