Abstract:

To form a high density and high quality image.

Development is carried out on a latent image support with a developer containing at least a toner and a carrier in an applied AC electric field to form the objective image. The carrier is obtained by treating the surface of a magnetic particulate core material with a silane coupling agent. The concentration of the toner in the developer is 3-30 wt.%. The peak-to-peak voltage (Vpp) of the AC electric field applied in the development is ≥1,000 V.
