To provide an image forming method for preventing irregularities in an image and uneven toner melting at an image transfer process, and capable of controlling the glossiness of the image.
As for the image forming method provided with the transfer process of transferring a toner image formed on an image carrier on to an intermediate transfer body, and a simultaneous transfer/fixing process of simultaneously transferring and fixing the toner image on the intermediate transfer body on to a recording medium, the toner includes at least binding resin and coloring agent. At such a temperature that the G'' of the toner is 1×104Pa, G' is 2×102 to 6×103Pa and the image is simultaneously transferred and fixed by using a fixing device, where a heat resistant belt 22 stretched to be laid between supporting rolls is brought into press contact with a fixing roll 2 covered with an elastic body, so that a nip may be formed between the fixing roll 2 and the heat resistant belt 22. At the exit of the nip, the elastic body of the fixing roll 2 is distorted through the heat resistant belt 22 by a pressure roll 23 arranged inside the heat resistant belt 22.
