To provide an image forming method whereby high productivity is maintained and, at the same time, an image which is highly glossy and has excellent preservability and excellent transmissivity to an OHP or the like is formed.
The image forming method has the step of forming an electrostatic latent image on an electrostatic charge image carrier, the step of forming a toner image by developing the electrostatic latent image on a developer carrier with developer containing toner, the step of transferring the toner image onto a transfer body, and the step of fixing the toner image under heat. The image forming method uses, as the toner, electrophotographic toner that contains at least a binding resin, a coloring agent, and a releasing agent in the range of 10 to 25 mass % of toner particles and has a shape coefficient SF1 of 140 or less. The step of fixing the toner image under heat is performed at a fixing speed of 170 mm/sec or higher so as to satisfy the relationship represented by the expression (A): 200<0.7×α+2000×β, wherein α is fixing temperature (°C) which is 160°C or higher and β is heating time (sec).
