Title:
IMAGE FORMING METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3035686
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To effectively and stably prevent an offset phenomenon even with a low voltage bias by using a magnetic toner containing a binder resin, a quaternary ammonium salt compound, and a magnetic body as toner, and setting the δr/δs lower than a specified value.
CONSTITUTION: A toner consists of a magnetic toner containing at least a binder resin, a quaternary ammonium salt compound and a magnetic body, and the δr/δs of the magnetic toner is not more than 0.2. A DC bias having the same polarity as the toner is applied to a fixing roller 7 coming into contact with a non-fixed toner image on a transfer material 6, and the fixing roller 7 has a surface layer formed from a resin containing a low resistance material. Since the residual magnetization δr of the toner particle is minimized without reducing the magnetic body content in the toner particle by setting the δr/δs of the magnetic toner not more than 0.2, the force for cresting the toner particle from a developing sleeve is never excessively increased, and the toner can be prevented from being scattered or protruded from the latent image.
