Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an image forming method by which a high spectral sensitivity to a long wavelength region is obtd., high image quality is obtd. without image defects, excellent environmental stability is obtd. and image defects or reduction of quality are not caused even for repeated use.
CONSTITUTION: The photosensitive material has a photosensitive layer containing at least a perylene pigment expressed by formula I or formula II as a carrier producing material on a conductive supporting body. This perylene pigment has a crystalline structure having X-ray diffraction spectrum for Cu-Kα ray showing 6.3±0.2°, 12.4±0.2°, 25.3±0.2° and 27.1±0.2° Bragg angle 2θ, and 12.4±0.2° max. peak, ≥0.65 half width of the peak, and no sharp peak at 11.5±0.2°. After the photosensitive body is uniformly charged, an electrostatic latent image is formed by exposure and subjected to reverse development. In formula, Z is an atomic group necessary to form a substd. or unsubstd. heteroring.
