Title:
IMAGE FORMING METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01232074
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the quantity of energy required for forming an image, by forming a transfer image through applying thermal energy so that the energy intermittently reaches a transfer recording layer, and transferring the image onto a transferred image-receiving medium.

CONSTITUTION: A transfer recording medium is prepared which has a transfer recording layer the transfer characteristic of which is varied by application of optical energy and thermal energy. Optical and thermal energies are applied to the recording medium so that one of the energies corresponds to image data and the thermal energy intermittently reaches the transfer recording layer, thereby forming a transfer image. Then, the transfer image is transferred to a transferred image-receiving medium. By this method, it is possible to favorably record images even on an image-receiving medium having a comparatively low surface smoothness, and to achieve energy conservation.
