To obtain an excellent image forming method by which fixation is possible at low fixing temperature, excellent offset resistance is obtained and rear surface soiling is improved by making toner include colorant, binding resin and wax and coating the surface of a toner image heated and fixed on a body to be transferred with the wax by a specified quantity.
The toner is constituted of at least the colorant, the binding resin and the wax. When the toner is fixed on the body to be transferred with heat and further with pressure on occasion, the wax is fully eluted from the toner, so that coating whose wax coating rate is ≥50% is performed and a wax layer is formed on the toner image. At such a time, a fixing surface is coated with the wax in a wide range. Since the surface of a copied image constituted of such a fixed image is coated with the wax whose surface energy is low, the copied image is not welded with the rear surface of the body to be transferred coming in contact with the surface of the copied image and the copied image thereon. When the body to be transferred which is welded with the copied image is peeled, it is ruptured or peeled in the wax layer so that irregularity is not caused in the image in substance even when it is somewhat welded.
