Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an image generating device which can fast generate the images of high picture quality by reducing extremely the computational complexity of a three-dimensional screen space like the two-diemsional comutation.
CONSTITUTION: An image generating device includes a geometric converter means 1 which geometrically converts a curved surface or a polygone defined in a three-dimensional space into a two-dimensional screen space, a micropolygon generator means 5 which divides e curved surface or a polygon from the curved surface or the polygon that undergone the geometrical conversion in the screen space and generates a micropolygon, and a rendering means 16 which renders the micropolygone, and, the curved surface included in the three-dimensional space is calculated on a two-dimensional plane.
