When an attack direction is detected while the motion which is currently being reproduced for the character 400 is generated, interpolation motion data (not shown in the figure) in which first and second motion data are interpolated for generating characters 402, 404 of first and second motions prepared for the character in advance are generated. The motion data of the motion which is currently being reproduced and the motion data of the interpolated motion are interpolated, and a new defense motion is generated. At this time, an interpolated rate by which influence of the interpolated motion data may gradually become stronger with a frame advance is used to interpolate.
