To provide an image forming device and its method in which users' operating burdens can be reduced in forming, from an identical image, a plurality of images whose compositions are different from one another.

According to an optional AF region (the rectangular region indicated by hatched lines) that has been set manually or automatically at the time of photographing, a plurality of trimming regions 100a to 100e whose each region includes the AF region is set automatically in a still image 100 obtained by the photographing (or a still image previously recorded). Then, trimming processes for targeting these regions are performed more than once to produce images with a plurality of the compositions. Otherwise, a portion of a photographic subject of a person or the like is recognized from the still image 100 to set, in the still image 100, a plurality of trimming regions including the portion of the photographic subject each recognized, and thereby trimming processes for targeting these trimming regions are performed more than once to produce images with a plurality of compositions. Thus, the images with the plurality of the compositions are obtained quite easily.
