Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent accident such as the damage of film caused by misoperation, and to miniaturize an image input device by operating a cartridge ejecting mechanism when a reading means moves over a ordinary reading range.
SOLUTION: This device has an chamber 31 for loading a cartridge 2 housing a transmissive original (film) 19, and an image recorded on the film 19 sent from the cartridge 2 is read by a line sensor 12 and converted into a digital signal. At the time of image reading, the sensor 12 moves while scanning the normal original reading range. When a cartridge eject signal is outputted, the sensor 12 moves over the normal reading range to operate a cartridge ejecting mechanism 14 for ejecting the cartridge 2 from the chamber 31.
