To provide an image inspecting device for deciding the quality of an imaged image by comparing the imaged image with a reference image to improve the positioning of both images or the precision of image defect detection.
An image dividing part 212 divides a reference image into divided reference images in specific sizes. An index value calculating part 214 calculates the dispersion or standard deviation of the divided reference images. A divided image size changing part 220 enlarges the size of the divided reference images in order to set the dispersion or the standard deviation to be a specific value or more. A divided image re-array size changing part 222 reconstitutes the division array and size of the reference images from which the divided reference images after size change are excluded based on the changed reference image size. An alignment processing part 232 executes the alignment processing of the divided reference images(including those after size change) and the imaged images obtained by an image reading part 100. A defect abnormality detection processing part 234 decides that any image defect exists when the specified interrelation coefficients of the positioned portions are lower than a decision index value.
