Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the image magnification and reduction device in which an image with an optional object width and an optional object height is obtainable and an image is stably obtained in either case of the ratio of the width to the height of an input image being nearly equal to or largely different from the ratio of the objective width to the objective height.
CONSTITUTION: After an input image size detection section 1 detects a width W1 and a height H1 of an input image, a ratio R1=W2/W1 and a ratio R2=H2/H1 are calculated by a ratio calculation section 2, where W2 is an objective width and H2 is an objective height. A magnification decision section 3 compares the ratio R2/R1 an upper limit S1 with a lower limit S2, and revises the height magnification into R1×S1 in the case of R2/R1>S1 and revises the width magnification of into R2×S2 in the case of R2/R1<S2. A magnification reduction execution section 4 uses the decided width and height magnification to magnify or reduce the input image in the width direction and the height direction respectively to obtain an objective image.
