PURPOSE: To reduce the outside diameter of an image pickup adapter where an image pickup lens is stored, by setting the image pickup adapter directly to an image fiber, where the coating at the tip is removed, in a concentric position.
CONSTITUTION: An image fiber 1 is formed by bundling many opticalfibers, and a plastic transparent material 2 for light guide is provided around the image fiber 1 instead of a normal coating for the purpose of transmitting an illumination light. The coating of a tip part 3 of the image fiber 1 is removed, and an image pickup adapter 4 is inserted, and an image pickup lens 5 is inserted. A resin adhesive 9 is charged into through-holes 7 and 8 to allow the image pickup adapter 4, the image fiber 1, and the image pickup lens 5 to adhere to one another. Since the area occupied by the image fiber out of the overall sectional area is made wider and the sectional area is used effectively, the outside diameter is reduced.
