To irradiate the whole close subject with light, without the possibility of vignetting illumination flux due to shield of irradiation light from a light emitting member by a lens barrel at the time of close-up photography, especially macro photography.
A digital camera 11 arranges a strobe 18 for illuminating a subject located in a normal photographing distance, near the upper front part of a body part 12 and arranges a light-emitting diode 16 for illuminating the subject, existing at a close distance at the front end of a movable lens barrel 13a. At photographing for the digital camera 11, the lens barrel 13 is sent out and projected by a large amount to the front of the body part 12. In this state, when a dark subject existing at a comparatively close distance is photographed by irradiating the subject with illumination light in the projected state of the lens barrel 13, the light-emitting diode 16 is made to emit light.
