Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a picture signal with high resolution in the vertical direction by arranging a first image pick-up means and a second image pick-up means by shifting 1/2 picture element in the vertical direction on an optically equivalent face, and arranging a shielding mask whose pitch is a share of 1 picture element in the vertical direction and width is a share of about 1/2 picture element extending in a horizontal direction. CONSTITUTION:Image pick-up elements 14A and 14B are arranged in the vertical direction by shifting them by the share of 1/2 of 1 picture element in the vertical direction and on the other hand, they are arranged in the same position to a photographing lens 10 in the horizontal direction. The image pick-up faces of the image pick-up elements 14A and 14B are covered with a shielding mask 58 in 1/2 picture element width in the vertical direction and with 1 picture element pitch in the vertical direction. Thus, the frame picture of the 525 lines of the image pick-up element 14A and the frame picture of the 525 lines of the image pick-up element 14B are in a complementary relation to each other and they have 525X2=1050 scanning lines in total.
