Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the focus in a contrast AF system with high precision and at high speed.SOLUTION: An image pickup apparatus is equipped with a focusing lens driver, an image pickup unit and a focus detector. The focusing lens driver shifts the position of the focusing lens from one side to the other of the image side and of the object side over a prescribed driving period. The image pickup unit generates image data by simultaneously completing exposure to light on multiple lines in the prescribed driving period after simultaneously starting exposure to light on the multiple lines simultaneously. The focus detector detects the focusing position of the focusing lens on the basis of the contrast of the image data.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
