Abstract:
To provide an imaging apparatus and a method for controlling the same with which flicker detection can be executed even during high-speed consecutive shooting.SOLUTION: A pixel has a first read-out path for reading out electric charges obtained by photoelectric conversion means after holding the electric charges in first holding means, and a second read-out path for reading the electric charges obtained by the photoelectric conversion means without passing through the first holding means. An imaging apparatus reads out the electric charges obtained by the photoelectric conversion means in relation to photographing based on a user's instruction with the first read-out path, and reads out the electric charges obtained by the photoelectric conversion means in relation to photographing of an image for information detection with the second read-out path. The imaging apparatus executes the read-out with the second read-out path in a period overlapping an electric charge read-out period with the first read-out path.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
