Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely record a subject at a desired time point while reducing power consumption.
SOLUTION: The subject fetched at a previous time and the subject fetched currently are stored being divided into plural blocks. Both subjects are compared (step SA7) and it is discriminated whether a block having no change exists among the plural blocks or not (step SA8). When one block or more having no change exists, both two cases are supposed, one leaving the camera while keeping its power on or the other one trying to waite for a shutter opportunity taking the camera in the fixed direction by a user are estimated. Then, processing after SA10 is performed to discriminate these both cases. When a block counter counting how many times each block continuously has no change shows a value more than a prescribed number as a result of discrimination in a step SA14, it is regarded the camera is left keeping its power on, and a power source 1 is turned off (step SA15).
