To provide an image pickup device and an image reproduction device equipped with a touch panel based user interface technique which allows display for which image visibility is fully taken into consideration and user-friendly input operation.

A UI control unit displays a setting icon 20a for setting photographing conditions and a setting menu 30a for identifying the kind of photographing condition to be set. According to a user operation of the setting icon, the kind of photographing condition displayed is switched over on the setting menu, and, by a first flick operation 24a on the setting icon, a setting condition 40 is displayed which corresponds to the kind of photographing condition identified on the setting menu. The setting condition 40 is altered by an operation to alter the setting condition from an operation unit and, after the setting condition is altered, the setting which has been made is confirmed by a click operation on a setting icon 20b. Then, by a second flick operation on the setting icon 20b after the setting is confirmed, the confirmed setting condition is restored to a default value.
