To direct a camera equipment automatically in a direction of a specific participant by emitting an infrared ray from the specific participant to upper/lower/left/ right light receiving sections provided to a prescribed position of the camera equipment and detecting phase differences of the light receiving sections.
An infrared ray emitting device 30 is arranged to each participant M and each device 30 is directed in a direction of a camera equipment 1 on a monitor 40. When a participant M turns on its own light emitting switch, an infrared ray is emitted to the camera equipment 1 from a light emitting diode 30a. Light receiving sections A, B, and D, E arranged to the left/right parts and the upper/lower parts of the camera equipment 1 at an equal interval from the center of the equipment 1 receive the infrared ray and a phase difference measurement circuit 29 measures a distance between the light emitting element diode 30a and the light receiving section A (B, D, E) A CPU 24 drives panning and tilt motors 22, 21 horizontally and vertically through panning and tilting drivers 26, 27 based on the phase difference to direct the camera equipment 1 in front of the participant M that turns on the switch. Thus, the direction of the camera equipment is automatically directed to the specific participant.
