Abstract:

PURPOSE: To adjust the position of a picture, which is displayed on a monitor screen, to a prescribed position by once returning a video signal, which is formed by a processor, to an endoscope side, inputting the video signal to a picture position adjusting circuit, which is provided in the endoscope, and executing timing adjustment for respective vertical and horizontal synchronizing signals.

CONSTITUTION: On the basis of a signal from an image pickup element driving circuit 40 which is provided in a connector 5 of an endoscope 1, an image pickup element 20 is driven and respective chrominance signals are transmitted to a processor 10. Then, by inputting the chrominance signals to a video processor 41 and a synchronizing signal generating circuit 42, a composite signal to be composed of the respective chrominance signals, a luminance signal and the synchronizing signal is formed. A vertical synchronizing signal VD and a horizontal synchronizing signal HD in the composite signal are once returned to the connector 5 of the endoscope 1 and inputted to a picture position adjusting circuit 43. Here, on a monitor screen 20, for example, since a picture in the position of an image pickup area A of the image pick up element 20 is displayed in a central part, the timing of the vertical synchronizing signal VD and horizontal synchronizing signal HD is dislocated only by difference between the image pickup area A and an image pickup area B.
