The image printing apparatus includes: an ink mounting means that can change ink for color printing with ink for monochrome printing; an ink information obtaining means for obtaining information on the ink mounted to the ink mounting means; a painting style pattern storing means in which a plurality of painting style patterns are stored; a recommended painting style pattern storing means in which a recommended painting style pattern suitable for printing by the mounted ink is stored; a painting style conversion means for converting an original image into the image having the painting style; a recommended painting paper storing means in which recommended printing paper suitable for printing a painting style image as printing paper is stored; a recommended ink discharge amount storing means in which information on an ink discharge amount corresponding to the painting style image; a printing means for performing printing on the printing paper; and a printing control means for controlling the printing means so as to perform printing with a recommended ink discharge amount.
