The device is equipped with color printing heads 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d in which two or more nozzles 6, 6, etc. which discharge color ink onto the printing medium P are arranged. The nozzles 6, 6, etc. are extended in the width direction of the printing medium P. The device is also equipped with background printing heads 4a, 4b, in which at least one nozzle 6, 6, etc. which discharges background ink onto the printing medium P is arranged. Image printing by color printing heads 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d and image printing by background printing heads 4a, 4b are performed at different time or in different positions.
