PURPOSE: To eliminate the need for a vacuum when a film is fixed, make it easy to load and unload the film, and enable fast drawing by substantially converging a radiant beam on the surface of a transparent member which faces a recording medium through the transparent member.

CONSTITUTION: A transparent support member 1 is provided as a support means for the recording medium, a reflecting mirror 2, a rotating motor, a shaft, etc., are provided as a scanning means which scans the recording medium supported by the transparent support member 1 with the radiant beam modulated with image information, and a condenser lens 3 is provided in an optical system as a converging means which converges the radiant beam. Further, a laser diode is provided so as to generate the radiant beam modulated with the image information. In this case, the transparent support member 1 is so constituted as to support the recording medium while one surface faces the photosensitive surface of the recording medium, and the condenser lens 3 is so set as to converge the radiant beam substantially on the outside surface 4 of the transparent support member 1 through the transparent support member 1.
