To provide an image processing apparatus smoothly reproduces a video image in viewpoint switching processing at reproduction of a multi-viewpoint image, and also to provide a calibration apparatus and method.
The image processing apparatus calculates a correction parameter to match reference image data with norm image data on the basis of the reference image data and the norm image data obtained by photographing a norm chart including a plurality of different luminance information items with a reference camera and a norm camera to perform correction of a photographed image on the basis of the parameter. Further, the image processing apparatus calculates calibration information of the cameras on the basis of difference data between the norm image data and the reference image data. Through the configuration above, the image characteristics (luminance, color, white balance) of the norm camera and the reference camera are unified so that the image processing apparatus can smoothly reproduce the multi-viewpoint image.
