Abstract:

To perform operation that a user arbitrarily selects/sets an item to be displayed together with an image with a few operations in an image pickup apparatus.

The user selects a desired item to be displayed together with an image arbitrarily and stores the selected item as a setting for a display mode. A plurality of such display modes are included and the user can arbitrarily change the display mode. Furthermore, the user can disable one or more display modes among the display modes. Therefore, the user does not need to change the display mode to an undesired display mode when changing between the display modes.
