To provide a technique for allowing a user to change print setting more simply to obtain a desired output result different from a previous one.
In a control program for causing a computer to operate as an image processing apparatus, when a print instruction is input, print setting corresponding to the print instruction and image data corresponding to the print instruction and the print setting are stored as print history. Similarity is calculated between the image data corresponding to the stored print instruction and print setting and printed image data in the print history, to determine whether there is a similarity to the printed image data. When similarity is determined, the print setting corresponding to the print instruction is compared to the print setting of the image data having similarity in the print history, a changed print setting item is specified from the print setting of the image data having similarity in the print history, a recommended print setting item is extracted, which is associated with the changed print setting item and is not similar to the image data having similarity in the print history, and a user is notified of the recommended print setting item.
