The image processing apparatus is provided with; a color bleeding suppression part 8 which performs processing of suppressing color bleeding of a sub-pixel precision image which has a precision according with a plurality of light emitting elements (sub-pixels) constituting pixels of a display device 13 and is constituted with gradations; and a color bleeding decision part 7 which decides the degree of color bleeding of the sub-pixel precision image before the processing of the color bleeding suppression part to generate a determination result and controls the color bleeding suppression part on the basis of the determination result.
