A CPU 51 analyzes/measures image data for one frame of a recording content decoded in a non-viewing time zone, and records analysis/measurement results in a RAM 52 as image processing profile information. When the content whose analysis/measurement has been completed is reproduced, the CPU 51 stores the image processing profile information stored in the RAM 52 in an external memory 62. Each module in a high-quality image processing module 58 reads the image processing profile information stored in the external memory 62 according to a frame count of the image data, and performs image processing of the image data based on the results. This invention is applicable to a television receiver system which reproduces the recorded content.
