Abstract:
To execute image processing for every pixel, in accordance with attribute information such as characters, halftone dots or bases.
An image processing apparatus determines an attribute of a pixel block and an area, to which each pixel of the pixel block belongs, by obtaining a normalization threshold value to extract edge features, based on the maximum value and the minimum value of the edge intensity, and a preset fixed threshold value, for the pixel block which is composed of a prescribed number of pixels extracted from image data. Then, based on the determined attribute of the pixel block and the determined attribute of the area to which each pixel belongs, the image processing of the image data is executed pixel by pixel.
